Four people have died after a two-car crash in rural NSW.

Police were called to Newell Highway in Tomingley, near Dubbo, after reports of a multi-car crash at 9.20pm.

Two cars had collided killing two men, believed to be in their 20s, and a man and woman, whose ages are unknown.

None of the crash victims have been formally identified.

A male driver of one car was taken to Dubbo Hospital with suspected leg injuries.

Police are investigating the circumstances around the crash.
