Former television host Andrew O’Keefe has been arrested again and charged after police said they found drugs in a nearby car.

“About 2.25pm today, a 52-year-old man was arrested at Rose Bay Police Station in relation to an alleged breach of bail incident,” police said.

“The man has been taken to Waverley Police Station where he is assisting police with inquiries.”

NSW Police later tonight said officers searched a nearby vehicle and found prohibited drugs that have been sent for further analysis.

O’Keefe has been charged with breach of bail and possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear at Waverley Local Court tomorrow.

The former star TV host’s arrest comes days after he was taken to hospital, and reportedly following a drug overdose in Sydney’s east.

“Officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command were called to a home unit on Old South Head Road at Vaucluse about 3.40am, Saturday 14 September 2024, responding to concerns for the welfare of a 52-year-old man,” police said.

“NSW Ambulance paramedics rendered assistance to the man before taking him to St Vincent’s Hospital.”

Last week, a judge threw out O’Keefe’s attempt to have domestic violence convictions quashed, finding the former TV host had a tendency to spit at his female victim during arguments.

However, he was successful in having drug possession charges overturned.

O’Keefe was convicted in January of three counts of domestic violence-related assault, twice contravening an AVO against him, and two charges for possessing a prohibited drug.

He was ordered to serve 18 months on a community corrections order, which involves supervision and reporting requirements.
