Ford Australia has issued an urgent recall notice on F-150 pickups and urged motorists not to drive them because they risk losing steering control.

The recall affects locally remanufactured Ford F-150 models that were produced between 2022 and 2023.

‘Due to a remanufacturing process issue, the steering intermediate shaft may separate from the steering rack resulting in a loss of steering control,’ the company’s recall notice said.

Owners of the affected vehicles are urged to stop driving immediately and contact Ford to organise a free inspection and repair.

Ford said it intends to notify affected customers in writing.

If you have further questions you can contact any authorised Ford dealer or the Ford Customer Relationship Centre on 13 36 73.
