Taylor Swift fans in Adelaide were on tenterhooks after flight cancellations left many fearing they’d miss their long-planned Sydney trip to see the superstar’s record-breaking The Eras Tour.

Swift, whose second of four Sydney shows was on tonight at Accor Stadium, has drawn massive crowds from around Australia in the down-under leg of her world tour, even playing the biggest show of her career at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

But some Adelaide fans hoping to see the show were left with a last minute change of plans to make it in time, with some opting to drive the 15 hours to Sydney instead.

Myla and Jazmine arrived at Adelaide Airport last night, when their flight was abruptly cancelled, due to the storms that swept Sydney and caused delays to Swift’s first concert.

“We have no idea what’s going to happen,” one said.

“I guess we’re going to have to walk there,” the other added.

All direct flights to Sydney quickly filled up, with passengers soon told they’d need to fly to the Sunshine Coast to get back on a plane to Sydney.

“There weren’t any flight options that would get us there soon enough, so me and my husband are going to drive to Sydney instead,” Swiftie Veronica told 9News.

“So will probably be pretty tired but, look, I’ll do it for Taylor Swift.”

But even those who managed to rebook a seat didn’t all end up on planes – with Qantas, Virgin and Jetstar all cancelling multiple flights, leaving pumped up passengers in the lurch.

“I had to pay $500 more for the one-way ticket and then it was just cancelled again,” one passenger told 9News.

“We had a first flight earlier today and that got cancelled and now we’re on a second one, that’s just been cancelled,” another passenger told 9News.
