Two long-lost sisters who for eight decades never knew the other existed have met for the first time.
“Oh Freda, it’s Shirley, it’s Shirley,” 81-year-old Shirley said.
“I have missed all these years, all these years, darling.
“How beautiful you are, look at you at 93, I’m so blessed to have you as my sister.”
The half-siblings discovered each other six weeks ago after Freda’s daughter Susan discovered a DNA link during an ancestry search.
“I couldn’t believe it, I think I had to read it a few times to make sure it was right,” Shirley said.
Freda was adopted as a baby and Shirley was born to the same mother 12 years later.
During their first moments together, the sisters embraced in a long hug.
“Freda, you are a beautiful sister and I love forever and ever,” Shirley said.
