Dozens of firetrucks are driving into Melbourne’s CBD in protest ahead of the state budget being revealed today.

Firefighters and Country Fire Authority (CFA) volunteers are protesting outside state parliament against the government’s proposed emergency services tax.

The protest is due to start at 9.45am, but people have already turned up with signs.

Farmers have also arrived to support the rural fire volunteers.

Around 2000 to 3000 people are expected to attend the rally.
