Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Acting Superintendent Darren Welsh said 22 firefighters responded and worked to isolate the fire to the workshop and commercial shop.

Acting Superintendent Welsh said the cause of the fire was unknown but said there were a number of batteries inside the workshop at the time.
“The crews did a great job in containing the fire, (and) it did not spread,” he said.
The historic club house is understood to be separate to the fire and was not damaged.
