Female teacher jailed for having sex with 15-year-old pupil is 'flirting with lads' at her new job as gate guard at West London construction site while on temporary prison release

A female teacher who was jailed for having sex with a 15-year-old pupil is now flirting with the ‘lads’ working at her new job as a gate guard while on temporary release from prison, it has been claimed.

Kandice Barber, 37, who had sex with the boy in a field, has been working at the council site in Hounslow, West London since May.

But sources claim that the mother-of-three has been a ‘hit with the lads’ at her new job, and that they have ‘no idea about her background’. They told the Sun newspaper: ‘It’s no secret she’s a massive flirt and lots of the staff there have already noticed her.

‘Kandice turned up about two months ago, which was a complete shock because she should have still been behind bars.’

Wates Construction, her current employer, confirmed Barber is on temporary release.

The 37-year-old is now said to be ‘flirting with lads’ in her new job checking security passes and letting in trucks on to the building site

Barber has been pictured wearing a hard hat to check security passes on the construction site, letting in trucks and stopping any traffic and pedestrians. Temporary release is designed to help reintegrate inmates before their release.

Barber was found to have abused an underage student at a school in Princes Risborough, sending him topless photos. She later drove them to a field where they had sex, courts heard. The victim said the assault took place between October 11, 2018 and immediately before the half-term.

Ultimately, Barber was reported after a photo shared with the child was circulated widely and reached the head teacher of the school. She was found guilty of one count of causing or inciting a child under 16 to engage in sexual activity.

At another trial, Barber was convicted of sending a topless picture of herself to the boy and a video in which she was pleasuring herself with a sex toy.

After the second trial at Aylesbury Crown Court, Recorder Bal Dhaliwal described Barber’s grooming of the teenager as ‘beyond despicable.’

Last year, it was revealed she was still seeing her husband, Daniel. He posted a photo after her sentence featuring a Superman t-shirt and kissing emoji alongside a caption saying ‘always’. At the time, Daniel described the verdict as ‘a joke’.

Jailing Barber at Aylesbury Crown Court in 2021, Recorder Bal Dhaliwal said Barber had ‘acted in gross breach of trust’ and had taken ‘advantage of a child in your care and groomed him for your own sexual gratification’.

She told the teacher: ‘The victim was a 15-year-old boy in his final year at school. You had control and authority over him. He felt drawn in by you due to the compliments, you caused him to engage in sex with you while he was a pupil in your care.’
