Sanjoy Dhar is asking the public to sign a petition calling for the government to cancel a 15-year contract with Ramsay Health Care to run the Joondalup Health Campus.

“I’m not talking about myself because I know that I will not get back my son, but we want that no one feels the same consequences,” Dhar said.

Dhar’s son Sandipan was just 21 months old when he died in March from an undiagnosed but treatable leukaemia.

The father is now launching two wide-ranging petitions.

One includes a call for Ramsay Health Care, which runs the facility to be stopped from operating services in WA.

The other demands mandatory protocols to ensure diagnostic tests are undertaken.

WA Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson said she’s in contact with the family.

‘We have been working closely with them on the changes they want to see,” she said.

A Ramsay Health Care-initiated report has already cleared medical staff working when the toddler was there of wrongdoing.

Today, the health provider declined to comment on the petitions, telling 9News it’s expecting results of an independent review into the hospitals’ paediatric emergency services in the coming weeks.

“We have now seen a number of times where West Australians haven’t received the health care they desperately need,” opposition MP Steve Martin said.

The petitions are set to be tabled in state parliament in November, with the family hoping to receive 100,000 signatures.

“I didn’t able to get the time to cry. The day we get the justice, I will do that,” Dhar said.
