The father of a woman who escaped an alleged kidnapping attempt in Queensland and was allegedly assaulted has said she was “very lucky” to come out of it as she did.

Police said the 43-year-old victim was robbed before being forced into a car and driven to her parent’s place in Forest Lake, where she locked herself in a bathroom before help arrived.

Investigators alleged that the men were armed with two guns and a knife, and said that at least one gunshot was fired.

The woman’s father Van Luu told Today his daughter was lucky to escape the ordeal, saying it was “very scary”.

“(The result was) very lucky for my family,” he said.

Police have also alleged that a second assault took place.

The woman received non-life-threatening injuries and police said she was also left “significantly shaken and traumatised”.

Four men were arrested during a search warrant at a property on Jarvis Street, in Stafford Heights on Friday.

Two men, aged 18 and 20, have since been charged, while two others have been released.
