Danny, originally from the UK, was attacked outside a train station in Perth just over two years ago and suffered a catastrophic brain injury.

A talented football player at the time of the attack, the now 27-year-old has undergone extensive surgeries in Perth and has lifelong injuries.

Now, after a meeting with the Department of Home Affairs and intervention from Western Australia’s Attorney-General John Quigley, a permanent visa has been granted.

Last month Danny spoke out after his attacker allegedly re-offended.

His attacker sentenced to three and a half years behind bars for the punch that left Danny permanently disabled, but served 22 months and has already been released.
