Fatal West Side hit-and-run being investigated as homicide after man struck while on sidewalk: CPD

CHICAGO (WLS) — The man killed in a West Side hit-and-run Sunday morning has been identified.

Enrique Martinez, 22, was as struck and killed by a dark sedan while on the sidewalk in the 0-100 block of North Ogden Avenue just after 5 a.m., officials said.

By the time officers arrived, the man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. His identity has not yet been released.

The incident is now being investigated as a homicide, according to police.

So far no one is in custody and police say the incident is an active investigation as they look to witnesses and possible surveillance video in the area.
