Hudson Gagg, 17, was tragically killed in an e-bike crash on Monday

The devastated family of a teenage boy killed in an e-bike crash have issued a heartfelt message to the driver involved in the tragedy.

Hudson Gagg and his best friend Jydon Meyers, both 17, were riding an e-bike through Tallebudgera, in the Gold Coast’s south, when they collided with a Mitsubishi Outlander about 4pm on Monday.

Emergency services rushed to the intersection of Tallebudgera Creek Road and Fenton Drive, but despite the best efforts of paramedics, Hudson, died at the scene.

Jydon, who was Hudson’s pillion passenger, was rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition with leg and facial injuries.

The Mitsubishi driver, a 65-year-old man from Robina, was also taken to hospital and treated for shock and emotional distress.

Jydon’s mother Kylie Meyers said she, her son, and the Gagg family were keeping the driver in their thoughts during this sad time.

‘From the bottom of our hearts, we want to express how truly sorry we are that the gentleman driving the car has had to go through this unimaginable tragedy,’ she said.

‘We send you love, strength, and deepest compassion as you too carry this heavy burden.’

Ms Meyers said the two boys grew up together and she had been an aunt figure towards Hudson through a ‘lifelong love and bond with him and his parents’, Jason and Gilli Gagg.

She said at the time of the tragedy, the pair had been enjoying ‘a day filled with adventure’ as they were out ‘doing what they loved most’.

‘I have had the privilege of watching Hudson grow from a bright, spirited boy into a healthy, beautiful young man with a radiant smile and remarkable manners,’ she said.

‘These two boys grew up side by side, sharing every milestone, adventure, and dream. Their bond was unbreakable built on laughter, love, and countless memories of a childhood spent together.

‘Now, as Jydon faces a long road to recovery, that deep connection is both a source of comfort and an aching reminder of their inseparable closeness.’

As the two families grieve the loss of Hudson and rally to support Jydon through his recovery, Ms Meyers has set up a GoFundMe to help support them financially.

‘Every donation, big or small, will help ease the financial burden and allow all of us who love these boys to focus on what matters most healing and remembering Hudson’s beautiful soul,’ she said.

‘Please help us surround Jason, Gilli, Jydon Yasmin and everyone who loves Hudson with love, prayers, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
