The fire, believed to have been sparked by an electrical fault, broke out at about 3am in the house on Colorado Circuit in Parkwood, waking neighbours with loud explosions.
Mother-of-three Kalindi Henderson captured the terrifying moments on camera as she fled the burning house with her family.
“I opened the garage door, and it was like… everyone get out, let’s go,” the 43-year-old said.
The fire quickly consumed the house, reducing it to ruins and collapsing the roof.
The Hendersons lost everything, including their Christmas presents and sentimental belongings.
“I’m a sentimental hoarder, I’m serious, like 40 years of my life just gone up in flames,” Henderson said.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the blaze.
In the meantime, the Hendersons, who will stay with family on the Gold Coast for the short term, are facing an uncertain future.
A crowdfunding page has been set up to assist the family in rebuilding their lives.
Despite the devastating loss, Henderson said she is grateful for the safety of her family.
“We’re all okay, that’s the main thing,” she said.
