A Melbourne family have been left homeless after a driver lost control and crashed into their house.

Jordan Lee and her two children were just metres from the impact in Brookfield in the city’s west.

The vehicle slammed into the house at 7am as they slept in a nearby room.

The damage was extensive as the driver first smashed into Lee’s car before the force knocked down a load-bearing column.

The house has been deemed structurally unsafe.

“Myself and my two kids and my partner, we are homeless,” Lee said.

“We are not allowed to step inside. We are not allowed to live here anymore.

“I am trying to be strong for my kids and everyone I am crumbling on the inside.”

A few belongings is now all her family has.

The driver, a 21-year-old P-plater from Melton West suffered minor injuries.

The moment before she crashed was captured from multiple angles on CCTV.

They are expected to be charged with careless driving.
