Emergency services responded to reports of a fire about 2.20am on Duterreau Way in Claymore.

The unit was significantly damaged in the blaze, with the ferocity of the flames causing the roof to collapse and walls to cave in.

A woman and two children were inside the home at the time and escaped without injury.

It took 20 firefighters over an hour to contain the blaze, which is now under control.
