End Of An Era: Snoop Dogg Gives Up His Longtime Bad Habit

In a shocking X post on November 16, Snoop Dogg announced to fans, “After much consideration with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke. Please respect my privacy at this time.” The viral post gained support quickly from followers, accruing over 240K likes in three hours. One showed solidarity for the rapper’s decision by replying, “Don’t worry Snoop, we your disciples will carry on your legacies….. We’ll smoke on your behalf…….. Stay strong for us.” Others, however, remained dubious about Snoop’s commitment to this life-altering change. “Today isn’t April Fools day Snoop,” quipped one such fan.

The “Gin and Juice” rapper might have foreshadowed his quitting Mary Jane earlier this year. In March, Snoop spilled to the Daily Mail that he had already cut down on his marijuana usage since becoming a grandfather (specifically, when his eldest, Cordé, had his baby boy Zion in 2015). “Being a grandfather has changed me in multiple ways,” he reflected, emphasizing that he wants to be able to “see my grandkids grow old.” “The only way I can do that is to take precautionary steps as far as how I move, who I hang out with, where I go out, my intake, what am I intaking,” the father-of-four explained. With decades of success behind him and, hopefully, many more to spend with his ever-growing family, we wish the newly retired smoker the best of luck!
