New South Wales Police responded to a mental health incident at The Gap (pictured) on Sunday morning

A large number of police were seen at a popular tourist destination in Sydney.

NSW Police responded to a mental health incident at The Gap in Watsons Bay, east Sydney, on Sunday morning.

Witnesses saw a number of officers at the seaside cliff.

Police confirmed it was a self-harm incident and no one was injured.
