On his own social media platform, Trump railed against the election results.
“A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution,” Trump said.
“Our great ‘Founders’ did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!”
“The Constitution is greater than any President. End of story,” Musk tweeted.
Former Vice President Mike Pence, who has been running a phantom campaign for the White House before a formal announcement, criticised his former boss, though not by name.
“I must tell you that I think that everyone that serves in public office, everyone that aspires to serve or serve again should make it clear that we will support and defend the Constitution of the United States,” Pence said.
White House spokesperson Andrew Bates called on Republicans in Washington to condemn Trump’s remarks.

“Asking members of Congress to reaffirm their oath of office and uphold the Constitution should not be a heavy lift,” Bates said.
“Congressional Republicans need to do that immediately, instead of repeatedly refusing to answer the most basic question.”
Senator Bernie Sanders also lashed the Republicans.
“Where are all the great Constitutional Conservatives when a former president wants to terminate the Constitution in order to continue his Big Lie?” he said.
The Big Lie is a phrase used by progressives to describe conservative claims Trump actually won the 2020 election.
Since Donald Trump announced his bid for the presidency three weeks ago, he has not held a campaign event outside his Florida country club.
