A young girl at a Catholic primary school has been rushed to hospital after allegedly being stabbed by another student.
The alleged incident occurred at 9am on Friday when South Australia Police were called to St Thomas More School in Elizabeth Park, north of Adelaide.
South Australia police said the female student was taken to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in an ambulance after suffered injuries from the alleged attack.

A student was allegedly stabbed by another student at a primary school in Adelaide’s northern suburbs on Friday just before 9am
‘The victim sustained superficial cuts to her torso,’ South Australia Police said.
She is believed to have suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Officers detained a male student who allegedly carried out the attack and seized a knife
Another individual who is an believed to be suspect, has also been detained by police.

The school was briefly placed into lockdown, but police said there are no further risks to students following the alleged incident.
According to the Adelaide Advertiser, some parents rushed to collect their children from the school.
The newspaper reports that several students remained at the school, and were spotted outdoors taking part in physical activities.
Emergency crews have left the area but police vehicle still remains at the scene.
