The receipt revealed that the waitress labeled the table the women were sitting at as 'Old B****es'

A group of elderly women dining at an upstate New York restaurant were shocked to see their server call them a profane name that ended up on their receipt.

While dining at Deacon Blues Restaurant in Watervliet, a town just outside of Albany,  a group of seven senior women walked away with a check that read ‘TABLE: Old B****es.’

Keira L DiNuzzo, a relative of one of the women, identified as Mimi, 87, shared the horrifying experience on Facebook, attaching the profane receipt as proof in the post.

‘My 87-year-old Mimi and her friends went to Deacon Blues for lunch — a place they’ve been to many times. But this time, they were completely disrespected. When the bill came, the receipt labeled their table as “Old b****es.”

‘Yes, that was printed right on the receipt,’ DiNuzzo said.

She added that the women had a terrible experience at the restaurant, starting with the server snapping at them when they arrived without three people in their party.

After politely explaining that some of their guests weren’t able to join, DiNuzzo claimed the server responded, ‘Well, it would be nice to let me know in the future.’

‘This is how you treat elderly women — loyal customers?’ she demanded.

The women also said there was ‘something black floating in one of the waters’ and when they notified the waitress, she reacted with ‘rudeness.’

‘There’s no excuse for this kind of disrespect and unprofessionalism. Deacon Blues, you owe them an apology,’ DiNuzzo said.

Helen Wilkinson, one of the owners of the restaurant, commented on DiNuzzo’s online review, writing, ‘We at Deacon Blues profusely apologize for the actions of our employees. Please do not think we condone this behavior toward our customers.’

‘Our customer base consist of many loyal senior customers who have made our business grow and have the upmost respect for them.’

The comment added that Deacon Blues has been in business for over 46 years, with many customers staying loyal to them for over four decades.

The owners said they were ‘ashamed’ of their server’s behavior and assured customers that it wouldn’t happen again. Deacon Blues has since hidden its Facebook reviews.

DiNuzzo reacted to the restaurant’s apology online, saying it was ‘noted’ but ‘lacks real accountability.’

‘There was no mention of consequences for the employee, no indication of corrective training, and—most importantly—no effort to make things right with the women who were directly disrespected,’ she added.

Social media users were appalled by the story, with many shaming the restaurant for the treatment of elderly customers.

‘Horrible, inexcusable! Shame on her & shame on Deacon Blues!’ one comment read.

‘Appalling. They certainly don’t deserve that; no one does!’ another agreed.

DiNuzzo also shared screenshots from other customers who claimed a server named Monica mistreated her mother too.

In response to the online backlash, Deacon Blues issued a statement to the Times Union that read, ‘I assure you that the owners are currently on vacation and are genuinely mortified by the behavior of their staff.

‘They are committed to ensuring that all guests feel respected and valued. When they return, appropriate actions will be taken to address these concerns.’

Daily Mail contacted the restaurant for comment on the allegations against them.
