Police are investigating after an elderly man was allegedly assaulted in his Perth home.
Officers said an unknown person broke into the man’s house in Rivervale at 10.45pm on Friday while he was sleeping on the lounge.
The stranger allegedly punched the man in the head before he left the house on foot.

The suspect is described as 190cm tall, 25 to 30 years old with a light complexion and medium build.
The elderly man was treated at the scene by St John Ambulance WA paramedics for cuts, swelling and bruising to his face.
Police are appealing to the public for information.
