CCTV footage has been released after a hit and run in Sydney’s south-west left a man fighting for his life.

About 8.10pm yesterday, police were called to Station Street in Fairfield Heights over reports of a crash.

They found a 39-year-old pedestrian who had been hit by a car.

The car involved is described as being a grey or silver sedan, with damage to the bonnet and windscreen. (Nine)

The driver left the scene before police arrived.

The pedestrian was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

Police have released CCTV footage of a car they believe was being driven during the incident.

It was seen driving on Station Street in Fairfield Heights before turning left on Marlborough Street, heading towards Polding Street.
