POSEN , Ill. (WLS) — A driver was injured in an expressway shooting Wednesday in the south suburbs.
The shooting happened around 2:36 p.m. on Interstate 57 on a ramp near 147th Street in Posen, Illinois State Police said.

A male victim was found at a Mobile Gas station on West 147th Street in Posen, police said. He apparently drove himself there after being shot in the arm on nearby I-57.
Officers applied a tourniquet to stop the bleeding until paramedics arrived to take the victim to the hospital for treatment. His condition was not yet known.
The victim’s age was not known.
ABC7 spoke to a witness who said the victim cut him off in traffic, speeding to the gas station for help. He saw the man collapse at the entrance while customers and employees waited for police.
Illinois State Police blocked off the exit ramp during the investigation.
All southbound lanes of I-57 between 119th and 127th streets were shut down, but have since reopened. Chopper 7 showed troopers canvassing the interstate while ISP continued to investigate.
The exact circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately known. No arrests have been made.
There’s no word on a motive or possible suspects, but Posen police said there’s no threat to the community.
