A driver slammed his SUV into a crowd of Filipino festival goers in Vancouver, Canada, Saturday night, killing multiple people and leaving many more injured, according to authorities.

“A number of people have been killed and multiple others are injured after a driver drove into a crowd at a street festival at E. 41st Avenue and Fraser shortly after 8 p.m. tonight,” the Vancouver Police Department wrote on X.

The driver of the car is in custody, VPD stated. It was not clear why the diver ran into the crowd.
