Two passengers, aged 34 and 43, who were Samoan nationals, died at the scene, about 36km from Mildura.

Several people inside the mini-bus were rushed to hospital, with a 39-year-old man and a 37-year-old man remaining in a critical condition.

A 27-year-old man and a 26-year-old man remain in a serious condition, while a 40-year-old is in a stable condition.

Three other passengers, a 28-year-old man, a 23-year-old man and 21-year-old man went to hospital for observation, but have since been released.

Police confirmed all passengers were Samoan nationals.

The driver, a 25-year-old man, has been charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing death and five counts of dangerous driving causing serious injury.

He will face Mildura Magistrates’ Court this afternoon.
