Described by the chip-makers as the ‘perfect pick-me-up to battle the 3pm slump’, the coffee flavour announced on Wednesday will undoubtedly catch the attention of fans.
The snack combines the satisfying aromatic taste of coffee with the iconic Doritos crunch. But it has already caused a stir among those who have tried it.
Several intrigued Aussies who managed to get their hands on the chips early shared their honest opinion – and many disapproved.
‘Yuck! That’s disgusting, sorry Doritos,’ one woman said after scrunching her face. She rated the limited edition flavour zero out of ten.
‘What is that? That’s not even a one [out of ten]. That’s hideous. Coffee? Why?’ one man said after trying the chip for the first time.

On July 3 the brand released a bold new coffee flavoured chip (pictured) – and opinions were divided
‘Honestly, that’s the worst thing I’ve ever had. Ever. It’s tastes like cardboard with coffee spilled over it,’ he said after his second chip.
A third scrunched up her face and said: ‘It’s a no from me.’
Most of the taste testers rated the snack a two – but a handful announced it ‘deserves a seven’.
A selected few weren’t so put off by the sweet coffee taste, but weren’t sure if they’d buy it for themselves.
‘Wow, it’s slightly sweet,’ one woman said.

‘It’s not that bad. I’d give it a seven, but I’d eat anything,’ another man added.
The latest offering isn’t available to purchase – Aussies will need to win a packet.
Doritos is giving away 25 packets daily at 3pm and fans will have the chance to win via the giveaway on the Doritos Instagram page.
