Don’t believe the Kamala Harris hype — the VP ‘has no impact’

Vice grip on minor office

Fret, grieve, worry about our country’s future and safety? A conversation from a few miseries ago — related by one who knew — was told to me.

The subject was could anything topple the great United States of America. And Israel’s Shimon Peres said to Russia’s Putin:

“You cannot ever beat America because it is protected by all the Generals — General Pacific, General Atlantic, General Canada, General Mexico — and the population is proportionate to the land mass.”

Donald said: “Doesn’t matter who’s vice president . . . has no impact.”

George Washington’s VP John Adams: “It’s the most insignificant office ever invented.”

Texas lawyer who was FDR’s VP Dem John Nance Garner: “The vice presidency isn’t worth a bucket of warm piss.” Clearly no born orator . . .

Alben Barkley, Harry Truman’s VP four years, told of a mother: “One son went to sea; the other became vice president; and neither was ever heard from again.”

Conundrum. Suppose Pelosi nudges hustles or kicks Old Hack Joe to back out. Step down. NOW. EARLY. IN ADVANCE. MOVE. Skedaddle. Butt out. Like maybe he doesn’t feel well. Like it’s before his time’s officially up.

That would automatically temporarily make Krapola Harris PRESIDENT! She and co-president Hunter could then move right into his old pantsuits and take over from there.

Keep sending mixed messages

I’m also getting cranky mail. Like: Ed Rollins who recently worked for DeSantis now humphs:

“Santos told you on the radio of ‘his future’? Oh, please. His solicitor had already entered a guilty plea earlier. He knew his future. Also not too truthful about being diagnosed with the nonverbal attention deficit disorder.”

A pol who once did jail time adds: “Prison’s a dehumanizing, mind-bending experience. All there lie to and with each other. For me it was either do that or suicide. And I think I chose wrong.”

Another: “If someone writes ‘nobody’s denied this story’ you can be sure the story has a barnlike smell.” Like the one where Canada’s former PM Trudeau never denied that son Justin might be the bastard product of a Fidel Castro relationship?! Really? I mean, please.

We’re in the same bloat

A historian’s history:

“1946’s inflation? Huge. Consumers had no products. Although dependent on trains, railroad workers struck nationwide. Coal miners and steelworkers joined. National paralysis is how bad we were then. But we got out of it.”

Hallelujah! Praise the Lord.

Hospitals crowded, Doctors busy, nurses quitting, bills skyrocketing, medical facilities faltering. The would-be patient, given an opening three months off, said: “But I may be dead by then.”

Answered the nurse, “No problem. You can always cancel the appointment.”

Only in New York, kids, only in New York.
