Donald and Daisy duck figures have been recalled by Mattel due to fears their heads could separate from their body and cause children to choke.

The figures were sold as part of the Fisher-Price Little People Mickey and Friends figure pack, but only Donald Duck and Daisy Duck are being recalled.

The Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, and Pluto figures are not recalled and may be kept by consumers.

The product is intended for children aged between 18 months and five years.

“These products may not comply with the mandatory standard for toys for children up to and including 36 months of age,” the product recall notice said.

“The head of the Donald Duck and/or Daisy Duck figures can detach.

“There is a risk of serious injury or death from choking if the head separates from the body of the Donald Duck and/or Daisy Duck figures.”

Consumers are urged to check the bottom of the figures for the model number HPJ88 and stop using the product.

The figures can be returned to the place of purchase or Mattel Consumer Relations can be contacted to receive a refund.
