Don Lemon's Slimmed-Down Appearance On New Show Has Us Doing A Double Take

Don Lemon’s post-CNN career isn’t going as he’d hoped.

When Lemon announced his deal with X, formerly known as Twitter, he lauded it as a chance to speak freely on important topics. “I’ve heard you …and I am back, bigger, bolder, freer!” Lemon posted to X (via the New York Post). “I know now more than ever that we need a place for honest debate and discussion without the hall monitors. This is just the beginning so stay tuned.” However, days before posting the first episode of “The Don Lemon Show,” Lemon took to Instagram to lament about Musk’s decision to walk back their plan. “Elon Musk has canceled the partnership I had with X, which they announced as part of their public commitment to amplifying more diverse voices on their platforms,” wrote Lemon.

According to Lemon, he saw the shady side of Musk when the X boss struck down the deal after they concluded their interview, which took place in Tesla’s headquarters. During the show’s intro, Lemon addressed his failed deal with Musk and implied that the Tesla owner pulled the plug because he wasn’t happy with the way that the conversation unfolded. “I challenge you, Elon, to watch the whole interview, and tell the whole world why this isn’t what you claimed you want,” he said. Regardless, Lemon — who revealed to People he had a feeling the plan could go awry — plans to release his episodes on other streaming services. So far, Musk hasn’t responded to this drama.
