Does ‘The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’ Have An End Credits Scene?

Happy Reaping Day! The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes opens in theaters everywhere tonight, bringing a new generation of tributes to the arena.

Directed by Francis Lawrence, who’s helmed all of the Hunger Games films since Catching Fire, this new movie is a prequel to the first four films, based on the 2020 novel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins. It tells the origin story of future Hunger Games villain, President Snow, played by newcomer Tom Blyth. Also starring Rachel Zegler, Peter Dinklage, Hunter Schafer, Josh Andrés Rivera, and Viola Davis, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is certain to deliver the same sort of politically-charged entertainment as the original franchise. Despite the movie’s 157-minute runtime, you’ll be glued to your seat.

But once the credits start to roll, do you need to stay? Or can you run to the bathroom and start the commute home?

Does The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes have an end-credits scene?

Nope. The Hunger Games prequel movie does not have an end-credits scene, nor does it have a mid-credits scene. There is no extra footage during or after the credits of this movie. The only thing you will see after The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes credits is the logos for the unions that represent the workers who were employed by the film. Yay, unions!

While Marvel has trained us to expect every sci-fi or fantasy movie to come with a teaser for the next film after the credits, The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is a standalone prequel based on a standalone prequel book. Never say never, but right now, it doesn’t appear that Suzanne Collins plans to write any more books about Cornelius Snow. So, there are no future movies to set up. For now.
