Daily Mail Australia spotted the group staging a protest on the steps of the city's iconic Flinders Street Station early on Saturday morning behind a banner which read 'Expose Jewish Power'

A group of masked men and woman throwing banned Nazi salutes and carrying a banner reading ‘Expose Jewish Power’ have been captured on video terrifying other passengers on a Melbourne train.

Daily Mail Australia spotted the group staging a protest on the steps of the city’s iconic Flinders Street Station early on Saturday morning behind a banner which read ‘Expose Jewish Power’.

The shocking display of racism came just hours before Australians went to the polls for the final time to vote on a Voice to Parliament after a divisive six-week campaign and ahead of planned pro-Palestinian rallies across Australia.

The racist display came after terrorist attacks on Israel by Hamas in which at least 1,200 died and hundreds where taken as hostages, and on the eve of Australia’s Indigenous Voice to Parliament referendum.

An unidentified leader encouraged the group – dressed entirely in black – to make Hitler salutes in full view of passers-by.

The group of around 30 people were singing songs about white supremacy and posing for photographs before they were approached by a small group of police officers.

While two police watched on, a teenager of Middle Eastern appearance shouted ‘f*** the Jews’.

As a result of the police attention, the far-right group furled their banner, entered the station and boarded a 1.50am train on the Werribee line.

A number of passengers were seen to abandon the train, or change their mind about getting on, once they spotted the group of protestors.

Once on the train they attempted to hand out ‘business cards’ for the National Socialist Network to the small group of other passengers headed home.

The most chilling moment on the train came when the group confronted a passenger holding a handkerchief in the blue and white colours of the Israeli flag.

The group demanded to know ‘what’s with the handkerchief’.

The terrified male passenger responded that ‘someone gave it to me on my way to the train’.

Then they asked, menacingly, ‘does it mean anything – it’s not Israeli, you’re not a Jew?’

He said ‘not to me’ and they moved on.

On the train, they handed out racist fliers and sang Advance Australia Fair as well as another racist pro-white power anthem.

At one point, a man of Middle Eastern appearance boarded the train and police asked him to sit behind them for safety.

At Footscray Station, a group of eight police officers boarded and prevented any more passengers from entering the train.

The group of far-right protestors were seen posing for photographs with the police officers in the background.

The leader of the group then encouraged them to sing more songs and throw more Hitler salutes.

Daily Mail Australia witnessed the group leave the train at Altona.

The disturbing incident comes just hours after three men were arrested for making Hitler salutes outside the Sydney Jewish Museum.

It’s understood the trio – aged 30, 31, and 40 – allegedly intoxicated, were doing Nazi salutes outside the museum in Darlinghurst shortly after midday on Friday.

The three have each been charged with behave in offensive manner in/near public place/school, and knowingly display by public act Nazi symbol without excuse.

All three have been granted bail and Daily Mail Australia was on the scene as two of the men walked free from Kings Cross police station about 6.30pm Friday.

One of the men covered his face with his t-shirt while the other, wearing hi-vis, used a cap to shield his face from cameras.

The trio’s alleged act follows ‘appalling’ protests held on the steps of Sydney Opera House on Monday evening in which a section of the crowd was filmed chanting anti-Jewish slogans and attempting to burn a Star of David flag.

Both incidents come amid rising tensions over the Israel-Palestine conflict which has this week erupted after terrorist group Hamas sent hundreds of its members across the border from Gaza to commit a surprise attack against Israelis.

The attack saw Hamas, proscribed as a terrorist organisation by the European Union and the US, burst through the heavily militarised border around the Gaza Strip and kill more than 1,300 people – most of them civilians – in an attack compared to 9/11 in the United States.

The group took an estimated 150 Israeli, foreign and dual national hostages back to Gaza during its initial attack. Hamas said on Friday that 13 of them had been killed in Israeli air strikes. It has previously said four hostages died in bombardments.

Israeli soldiers have swept the southern towns and kibbutz farming communities since Saturday.

They said they found the bodies of 1,500 terrorists, as well as large numbers of civilians killed by Hamas fighters.
