‘Disgruntled passenger’ makes bomb threat after missing flight out of Vegas

A “disgruntled passenger” who missed his flight from Las Vegas to Los Angeles was taken into custody after he claimed there was a “possible bomb” in his luggage, police said.

The unruly traveler allegedly made the threat around 2 p.m. Thursday at Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport, prompting a police response.

He allegedly stated there may be explosives in his luggage aboard the Los Angeles-bound JetBlue flight 879 that he missed, Los Angeles Airport Police told Fox5 Vegas.

Las Vegas police arrested the passenger and notified LAX police about the possible threat, which went unfounded.

It’s not clear if the passenger has been charged at this time.

Flight data shows that the plane, which took off 37 minutes late, landed safely in Los Angeles around 2:02 p.m. local time.
