Stephen Curry was cold-blooded during the USA’s victory over France in the 2024 Paris Olympics gold-medal game, and his shooting prowess mortified French broadcasters.
“Come on, we must continue to steal the ball… ” the French broadcast said just before Curry nailed another 3-pointer. “This devil named Curry is hurting us!”
Curry nailed eight 3-pointers, including four in the final 2:58 as the U.S. held off a stubborn French team that pushed them to the end.
While being double-teamed as the shot clock was set to expire and the U.S. clinging to an 82-79 lead, Curry stepped back for a fadeaway jump shot.
The announcers for the Olympics hosts watched on in despair.
“Beware, beware of Steph’s shot! Oh noo … but nooooo!! but nooooo!!” the announcer said. “Steph Curry at the buzzer … how is this possible?!”
Team USA wound up snagging the victory over a French team led by Victor Wembanyama, 98-87.

Curry scored a team-high 24 points for the USA against France, most of which came in the fourth quarter as the team’s other superstars got out of his way and let him take over.
Against Serbia in the semifinals, Curry dropped 36 points as they came back from two different 15-point deficits.
This was likely a one-and-done showing in the Olympics for 36-year-old Curry, who hadn’t previously been able to compete.
