The date of the funeral however will be “confirmed in due course”, the statement read.
Flags at Royal Residences were half-masted yesterday, and will remain so until the final day of mourning.
The half-masting will not apply to the royal standard, the flag which is always flown at full mast when the monarch is in residence.
Royal salutes will be fired in Hyde Park and the Tower of London, one shot for each year of the Queen’s life.
Royal residences will be closed until after the Queen’s funeral. This includes The Queen’s Gallery and the Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace, and The Queen’s Gallery in Edinburgh.
There are no physical Books of Condolence at the Royal Residences, An online book will be available.
It comes as King Charles will record an official message following the death of the monarch, which will be broadcast at 6pm on Friday UK time. With the time difference, this will be 3am AEST on Saturday in Australia.
