A Senate inquiry is currently underway to look at laws in the delivery and gig worker sector.
TWU national secretary Michael Kaine said three riders had been killed in recent months.
“Today the Senate has heard from gig workers who spoke of pressures to rush on the road, being deactivated from platforms without explanation or right of appeal and having to work 60-hour weeks to get by,” Kaine said.
“Without reform, we will only continue to see tragedies on our roads borne out by these deadly pressures.”
