New South Wales has experienced a horror day of crashes, with three people killed and at least three more injured in separate accidents.

In Peakhurst in Sydney’s south, a woman was allegedly struck by a car at the Forest Road and Pritchard Place intersection while she was crossing the road at 5.45am yesterday.

Paramedics responded quickly, but the 63-year-old woman died at the scene.

The male driver of the 4WD, aged 48, was taken to St George Hospital for mandatory testing.

Near Lithgow, in the Blue Mountains, a 13-year-old boy was killed after being struck by a car on the Great Western Highway in Bowenfels at 6pm, 3km south of Lithgow.

Bystanders performed CPR on the teenager while waiting for paramedics to arrive.

He was taken to Lithgow Hospital in a critical condition, where he later passed away. 

A second man, aged 24, was also struck by the car. He was treated for minor injuries.

The 45-year-old driver was taken to Lithgow Hospital for mandatory testing. He was uninjured.

Just 15 minutes later, three vehicles were involved in a serious crash in Dubbo in rural NSW.

Emergency responders were called to a three-vehicle crash at Currawong, 22km west of Dubbo, at 6.15pm yesterday.

The 77-year-old male driver of a Mitsubishi Triton was treated at the scene and was taken to Dubbo Hospital. He is in a serious but stable condition.

The 30-year-old driver of a Subaru Tribeca was taken to Dubbo Hospital in a stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

A third driver of a Toyota Landcruiser, aged 34, was not injured in the crash, and is assisting police at Narromine Police Station.

Police said examination of the scene will take “a considerable amount of time.”

In a fourth crash near Maitland, in the NSW Hunter Region, a man was killed following a separate three-vehicle crash.

The cars allegedly collided on Cessnock Road in Gillieston Heights at 7.30pm yesterday.

The driver of one car, a 44-year-old man, died at the scene.

Two other drivers, a 40-year-old man and 53-year-old woman were treated at the scene. 

The man was taken to John Hunter Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The woman was assessed at the scene for minor injuries.

Police have established a crime scene and are investigating.

The deaths mark 212 lives lost this year on NSW roads, compared to 191 at the same time last year.
