On Thursday afternoon, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that “Green Knight” director David Lowery had been tapped to direct at least one episode in the upcoming Star Wars series.

Although production has wrapped months ago, the directors are still being revealed. Earlier this month, newly minted Oscar winners Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert from “Everything Everywhere All At Once” confirmed that they had directed one episode after the news broke.

“Lol, all of the people @ing us about getting sucked up by the ‘corporate machine’ can chill. These headlines are always misleading,” Kwan wrote in a statement posted to his Instagram Stories. “Don’t worry. We aren’t working on a whole series, we guest directed one episode.”

“Jon Watts approached us to do an episode a while ago (before EEAAO even came out),” he explained. “We love Jon, love Star Wars, love learning new tech, we love meeting new cast and crew, and we needed the days to keep our healthcare (!!!) so it was an easy yes.”

“We shot it last year and had an incredible time working with the most talented cast and crew and I’m excited for you all to see it,” he added. “Our next film will be an original Daniels project so you can stop worrying (and stop bothering me about it).”

The “Skeleton Crew” stars “Fantastic Beasts” actor Jude Law and a group of children that find themselves lost in the galaxy attempting to find their way home. The series was first announced at the 2022 Star Wars Celebration fan event.

At the time, producer Dave Filoni warned that “Skeleton Crew” is not intended to be a kids’ show and compared it to the animated “The Clone Wars” series.

“I’m like, we cut people’s heads off in Clone Wars, so I’m not sure that’s the best measure,” Filoni said at the time. The series is being developed by “Spider-Man” filmmaker Jon Watts and writer Christopher Ford.

Plot details have been kept under wraps for now, but Star Wars fans have their fingers crossed that more information will be revealed about the show at the annual Star Wars Celebration fan event next month.

In addition to “Skeleton Crew,” there are many other Disney+ series that fans are looking forward to. Earlier this week, the animated series “The Bad Batch” just wrapped up its second season. The season ended on a cliffhanger and many fans are hoping to hear good news about season 3 at Star Wars Celebration.

If that wasn’t enough, fans are also looking forward to second season of “Andor.” The prequel series follows the story of Cassian Andor, played by Diego Luna, and explains how he got involved with the Rebellion. Andor first made his appearance in 2016’s “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.” Series creator Tony Gilroy has stated that the final moments of “Andor” will lead right up to the opening moments of “Rogue One.”

In addition to “Andor,” there is also the “Ahsoka” series for fans to look forward to. After appearing in the animated series “The Clone Wars” and “Star Wars Rebels,” the character first made her live-action appearance via actress Rosario Dawson in “The Mandalorian” and “The Book of Boba Fett.”

More familiar faces from “Star Wars Rebels” are expected to appear in “Ahsoka,” especially since Zeb just made his first live-action appearance in last week’s episode of “The Mandalorian.”

Fans are also looking forward to more information about “The Acolyte” which will feature “The Hunger Games” alum Amandla Stenberg, “Squid Game” star Lee Jung-Jae, and “The Matrix” star Carrie-Anne Moss.
