David Jones hits transfer portal as St. John’s down to three returning players

The clearing out of St. John’s roster under Rick Pitino continues.

Junior wing David Jones entered the transfer portal on Tuesday, joining several teammates who left following the coaching change.

The 6-foot-6 wing struggled in his one season in Queens with consistency and shot selection.

He was one of the top transfers on the market last year after leaving DePaul.

Pitino has said he expected to add up to eight new players to the Red Storm roster.

The only set returners so far are star center Joel Soriano and little-used reserves Drissa Traore and Mohamed Keita.

Freshman guard Kolby King is a possibility to return, according to sources.

Posh Alexander, Andre Curbelo, Dylan Addae-Wusu, AJ Storr, Rafael Pinzon and Omar Stanley have all entered the transfer portal.

Alexander and Storr have been given the opportunity to return to the reshaped program, if they want.
