The dashcam footage shows the rider crashing head-on into a ute, which turned into his path, causing him to go tumbling along the road in Mount Waverley about 10.20am on Monday.
“I survived the crash. Got lots of fractures and needed a surgery. Proper riding gear saved my life,” the rider told Dash Cam Owners Australia.

“Riding gear save riders’ lives, always ride with proper riding gear,” he warned others.
Paramedics have confirmed he was taken to the Alfred Hospital with lower body injuries in a stable condition.
