Since early 2022, Ukraine has been ravaged by war from a Russian invasion.

As of August 2023, the war continues to wreak devastation across the country, with no signs of slowing.

Russian missiles badly damaged a historic Orthodox cathedral in the southern Odesa, sparking outrage from conservationists.

The Transfiguration Cathedral is Odesa’s largest church building.

It was consecrated in 1809, destroyed during the Soviet era in 1936 before being rebuilt when Ukraine became an independent nation.
