Dakota Fred Hurt was passionate about the work he did and planned on being a part of “Gold Rush: White Water” forever. On his 77th birthday, Hurt shared on “Gold Rush: White Water,” “Hey at 77 years old you just never know how many more seasons I got to do this. I’ll probably dive until I die.” Unfortunately, in March 2023, it was revealed that the reality star had been diagnosed with brain cancer.
They announced the news in a statement shared online and Hurt still kept a positive spirit about his diagnosis. He said, “I’ve lived a full 80 years of an interesting life. If I emerge from this dark diagnosis, I’ll have another adventure to share with you folks.” The reality star even planned to work on more film projects before his tragic passing.
