A woman has been stabbed by a man at a popular gym, before she was rushed to hospital with wounds to her head, neck, and back.
NSW Police were called to Crunch Fitness Alexandria, in Sydney‘s south, at about 12.30pm on Wednesday after a man – believed to be in his 40s – had allegedly stabbed a 39-year-old woman.
It is believed that they are known to each other.

Paramedics treated the woman at the scene before she was rushed to Royal Prince Alfred hospital in a stable condition, with wounds covering most of her body.
Officers have set up a crime scene near the gym and are investigating the incident.
Witnesses said they saw a man attacking a woman in the gym’s car park before he fled in a small vehicle.
After she was attacked, the woman ran into the gym seeking help.
The witness said: ‘She had blood all over. She was in her gym clothes and had a jacket on,’ he said.
‘There was heaps of police and they were investigating what happened.’
Another witness said the cops were assisting the woman the best they could by wrapping bandages around her neck until paramedics arrived.
‘It’s kind of scary. I’ve been to the gym for three years and it’s the first time anything like this has happened, he said.
One woman said she hears screaming just as she was making her way up the stairs to go to the gym.
