Seven-week-old Lucky was born in Bali to Australian parents Honey Ahimsa and father Pan when she contracted an unknown illness, leaving her unable to breathe on her own.

Indonesian doctors were able to diagnose that her condition was a type of bacterial infection, causing her lungs to stop working, but were unable to treat the newborn due to a lack of supplies.

After an emergency medevac flight was organised for the family to be flown to Brisbane for treatment, Lucky’s mum Honey has since confirmed on social media the little one is on the mend in hospital.

“Doctors said she wasn’t going to make it and now here she is in my arms for the first time in nine days,” Ahimsa wrote on Instagram.

“Nothing will ever compare to this feeling.

“She is a fighter, our miracle baby. Thank You to everyone who helped make this possible, forever grateful.”

Ahimsa, who grew up Melbourne but had recently relocated to Indonesia with her young family, shared a touching video of herself cradling her young daughter in hospital, emotions clearly visible.

Balinese doctors worked desperately to treat little Lucky, but due to lack of supplies and facilities they were unable to properly help the newborn.

A crowd funding page has raised almost $200,000 for the young family.
