The Coyotes have waived center Adam Ruzicka hours after a video was posted to social media that appeared to show the NHL player in a room with a white powdery substance.
The video, which was purportedly posted to Ruzicka’s Instagram story, had an American Express credit card on a plate that seemingly included a line of the substance.
“The Arizona Coyotes have placed forward Adam Ruzicka on unconditional waivers for purposes of terminating his contract,” the Coyotes said in a statement. “The Club will have no further comment at this time.”

At the end of the video, an individual seeming to be Ruzicka put what appeared to be a vial in his mouth.
Ruzicka has appeared in three games for the Coyotes this season.

He was picked up by Phoenix after he was waived by the Flames, the team that picked him in the fourth round of the 2017 NHL Draft, last month.
The 24-year-old Slovak has three goals and nine points on the season split between the two teams.
