This is one way to break the ice.
Kya Jeub, a soon-to-be mom-of-three from Oklahoma, posted a chilly gender reveal video to her TikTok account Tuesday that has since gained more than 12.7 million views.
In the video, Jeub and her husband use a weight to break the top layer of frost from an ice bath, then get into the tub to reveal pink ink in the water, indicating that the baby is a girl.
While the move may not be so out of left field for Jeub, who goes by Ice Queen and frequently posts videos of herself submerging herself in ice baths, one of her followers called the move “so weirdly random.”
Several commenters gave her video a frosty review.
“This was so random,” one viewer said.
“Is that safe for the baby??????” a concerned person added.
“The worst gender reveal I’ve ever seen,” someone else chimed in.
Others congratulated the mom and reminded people that this video wasn’t so different from her usual content.
“You guys really think she doesn’t know what she can & can’t do when it comes to this!? Congrats mama,” one person said.

“The amount of ppl that don’t know this is your normal content is hilarious. CONGRATULATIONS,” a second added.
“People are so creative,” a third offered.
Several people below her video questioned the safety of taking an ice bath while pregnant; it appears to be safe, although it comes with some risks to watch out for.
Some of the benefits for pregnant women include elevation of mood, immune system enhancement, and reduction in swelling and inflammation, as well as improved skin health, according to Cold Plunge Facts.
Some risks could be cardiovascular strain from increased heart rate and blood pressure, a strong immune system response that could lead to pregnancy complications, and a risk of falling, hyperventilation, fainting, stress and anxiety.
This isn’t the first time Jeub has been criticized for her ice baths, either.
Jeub caught some heat when she shared that her young kids, Damon and Hermione, like to take ice baths alongside her. In one of her videos, she said her ice bath is 35 degrees Fahrenheit — though it’s not clear whether her kids’ ice baths were as cold.
Dr. Dominic King, a sports medicine physician in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, told “Today” that ice baths aren’t recommended for young children or people with certain medical conditions.
However, cold water plunges, also known as cryotherapy, can provide a host of benefits, such as easing sore muscles, reducing core body temperature, increasing focus, and leading to better sleep and less inflammation.
