Police allege he had failed to comply with his supervision order by searching for and viewing explicit material.
Wilmot appeared at Waverley Court this afternoon, where he was represented by a Legal Aid solicitor who indicated the 51-year-old would plead guilty – although a plea wasn’t formally entered – and not make an application for release.
Wilmot was 15 when he was part of the gang of five teenagers who kidnapped, raped and then murdered Balding in 1988.
He did not rape or murder Balding himself, but was handed an almost 10-year sentence over his role as an accessory to her abduction and assault.
After he was released on parole, Wilmot attacked four other women in the late 1990s and was sent back to prison.
Today, his bail was formally refused and the case was adjourned until July 5.
