Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist Helen Reid said many flood warnings had been downgraded or finalised yesterday and overnight.
However, in Queensland, warnings remain in place for Warrill Creek, and the Logan, Bremer, and Albert rivers.
Rivers in NSW under flood warnings include the Richmond, Clarence, and Orara.
Heavier falls of 5mm to 15mm, with isolated totals of 30mm to 50mm, were recorded inland, around Toowoomba in Queensland, and Moree in NSW.

Thunderstorms are possible in south-west Queensland and north-west NSW.
Reid said conditions would continue to ease through the rest of the week along the eastern coast, though floodwaters could remain high.
The forecast for the weekend included dry conditions for many in the area.
