Customers trying to log in to the CommBank app were greeted with a notice saying, “We’re working to fix an issue affecting our services”.

A similar message was shown on the banks’ NetBank website as the bank’s social media channels were flooded with complaints.

“What is going on I can’t access my account and I need to transfer money!” one user of X, formerly Twitter, said.
