Commanders vs. Cowboys prediction, odds: NFL Week 18 picks, best bets

Commanders (-6) over COWBOYS

The Commanders should want nothing to do with a road game in Philadelphia in the wild-card round.

By beating Dallas on the road in Week 18, they secure the No. 6 seed and ensure a date with the Buccaneers, Falcons or Rams.

Tampa Bay can win the NFC South with a win against the Saints, while a loss and a Falcons win would give the division to the Falcons.

The Rams will be the No. 3 seed with a win or if the Falcons win the NFC South, while they would lose the tiebreaker to the Buccaneers should they lose and Tampa Bay win on Sunday.

Facing the NFC South or West champion is the more preferable option than facing the Eagles.

We saw last week that the Cowboys have mailed it in, getting torched by Eagles backup quarterback Kenny Pickett and Philadelphia third-stringer Tanner McKee.

They also don’t have stud receiver CeeDee Lamb to scare Washington.

Commanders star rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels is playing particularly well, and a young team should aim to enter the postseason playing as well as it possibly can.

Daniels has 17 total touchdowns over his last five games.

Betting on the NFL?

We’ll back the better team in this matchup versus the eliminated team down its best offensive players in Lamb and starting quarterback Dak Prescott.

Dallas’ 34-26 road upset of the Commanders would carry more weight if it had its full stable of players and if this game carried any type of significance for the home team.

Last week: 1-1. Colts (L), Raiders (W)
Season: 13-20-1 (entering Saturday’s games)
